03.30.06 (6:35 pm)   [edit]

I just got back my Statistics quiz just now. Though I slightly improve, but I wasn't satisfied one bit. Lots of careless mistake. If it's the real thing, I would rather knock my head. Surprised (Ouch!)

I haven't been studying much lately. Just playing Speed with my friend every night, for many hours till it's almost time to sleep. Hmm, that's not really good. I have approximately 40 days till exam and I'm still wasting my time.

No matter who your friends are, your true friends are always your family because they seriously care about you. This was what I thought when Stats teacher was in front explaining the workings for the quiz. Never really given it much thought, but yeah, I think it's true. Smile

Hmm...very strange. I did a test last time on what kind of weather am I and I'm a sunshine. But now, a different test but almost similar and I am a WINTER. Wow! It fits with the 'falling snow' for my blog. =)

My routine life

03.28.06 (6:45 pm)   [edit]
  1. Got up at 6.30am. Brush my teeth, wash my face. I don't shower in the morning nowadays, too cold...brrrrr....plus, I woke up late. If I woke up at 6am, then I would have ample time to shower.
  2. Read the Daily Text and some encouraging experiences, just so that I could cope with today's pressure. Since coming here, I have been constantly tested - my patience, my loyalty, my faith etc.
  3. Took breakfast with my roommate. It was bread, jam, margerine and half-boiled egg. I don't like half-boiled egg, feels so raw...
  4. First class was Pure Maths. Of course there's homework and some good news - teacher MIGHT NOT enter class this afternoon cos she has a meeting. Alas! When there's good news, there's always bad news. The bad news is she'll be leaving us some tutorial questions. So we shouldn't expect any free period.
  5. Another Statistics quiz. But this time, I really don't study for it. Been spending the whole night trying to complete a Sociology essay. My answers for the quiz are based on trial and error and also common sense. I don't know how well I do, but I certainly hope it's better than the previous one.
  6. Now, I'm in the computer lab, typing out this post.
  7. After this, my class is going to watch "Syrianna", starring George Clooney. I love George Clooney, he's one of the most charismatic actor I've seen, alongside Pierce Brosnan, Richard Gear, Amitabh Bacchan. They still look hot, though they're old. Now that's what I call ageing gracefully.
  8. After my classes, lunch. Don't know what's for lunch but hope it's not as bad as yesterday's lunch.
  9. And then there's afternoon class - literature, which is just presentation. I hope I won't fall asleep listening to the presentation.
  10. At 5pm, my friends and I are going out to eat. Not sure where yet. I hope it doesn't rain again like yesterday. I really want to have a change of appetite.
  11. Not going to night class. But study in the room.
  12. Study till it's almost time for Popcorn Wednesday (a night movie) at 10pm! Hope it's a good movie.
  13. After movie, sleep till the next morning and the routine goes.

Ode to snow

03.27.06 (8:26 pm)   [edit]

I love snow, though I've never seen one. That's why I bought 'falling snow' for my blog because I think it describes a lot about myself. It's cold like me because I'm quite a reserved person, always keeping to myself. The atmosphere the snow creates - loneliness, isolation, demure...- it suits me well since I prefer to be left alone. I did a test on www.blogthings.com and my weather is sunshine. Cool Well, I guess that's changed after meeting my 2 good friends, Allison and Ee Lin. Not forgetting Elaine who is currently so far in the UK. By getting to know them, I realised that life isn't always that bad. And also to some of the tbloggers who encourage me through their comments. Just want to thank you all. Too bad there's no snow in Auckland, I thought that maybe I could fulfill my childhood dream of building a snowman. Embarassed Hehe. Maybe, just maybe, one day I could visit a country where there's snow, just to feel how's it like!

Quiz sucks!

03.23.06 (6:42 pm)   [edit]

Sat for a quiz just now but the only questions I know how to do are just 2/7!! Well, kinda expect it anyway. Yesterday afternoon, I read the Reader's Digest and had a long nap. At night, I continued reading Reader's Digest till it was almost time for Alias at 10.30pm (I just can't miss the show). After that, I played 'speed' with my roommate. We reasoned that because our Stats teacher constantly tell us to do lotsa exercises so that we can test our speed and accuracy, so we played 'speed' (a card game). Geez...we interpret it the wrong way...intentionally. Tongue out Played for about an hour, then only I start to flip my Stats past exercises. If I didn't, I think I couldn't even answer the questions because the questions teacher set for the quiz are taken from the previous exercises. Hmm...

Tonight, I'm going to watch American Idol (season 5) and America's Top Model. I don't know about tomorrow, but I think my friends and I won't be going anyway...

Argh!

03.22.06 (8:49 pm)   [edit]

In my previous post, I mentioned about the water problem, well, we had a scare last night. My friend came back from the washroom to report that there's no water in the showers and also the toilet. But the water at the sinks is reduced to just a trickle. Immediately I grabbed my pail, intending to collect water. Alas, even the trickle became drops of water and later no water at all. My friends and I already made plans to bath at the usual place (totally secret so we don't have to fight for water with other people. Hehe, so mean.) today but few hours later, someone reported that the water is back. Ah, what joy! Laughing And this morning, there's still water and the pressure's strong. Well, just hope that it'll last!

Today's timetable is really messed up! The class president said we're supposed to have literature class right after Maths, when initially it's a free period. We were at the computer lab at that time, so we had to walk quite a distance to go to the library since we're supposed to meet there. Guess what, when we reached there, my friends and I didn't see anyone from our class in the library. When asked the other students, they said not one of the students from my class came to the library. What?! Yell All those walking for nothing and it's not that the teacher gave us anything to do! Just asked to do our own work! SHISH... This is not the first time that we're given the wrong information by the class president. Yesterday, he said we can do anything for sociology period, so my friends and I already decided on going to the computer lab, as usual... And we did. But after soc class ended (next class was Maths), teacher called us to the staff room and told us off for not telling her where we were (ok, maybe it's true.) and said that she felt insulted by our attitude. Fortunately it wasn't a long lecture, just a brief one, maybe 2 minutes like that. She made her point very well without any anger against us, so it wasn't that bad. BUT, what we're really pissed off was that the class president said we can do anything, so didn't that mean ANYTHING? Not just that, we weren't the only ones who were not in class, wait a minute, the library. And it's not that the teacher was going to give us assignments to do?! So basically, time is wasted AGAIN!! It's true what I said, the teachers are just babysitting us. I think we're better off studying on our own. Argh, can't believe the whole morning is wasted going to school.

Journal?

03.21.06 (8:17 pm)   [edit]

Back to school again...*sigh* 46 days till my next break. I've just bought the falling snow you can see on my blog, cost me 50 bucks! Fortunately it's just imaginary money.

Today is the third day of school and already lots of things happened.

  1. My friend was told off for wearing a 3/4 pants, but the thing is, it's still decent as compared to the other girls who wear really tight pants which shows off their butt.
  2. My other friend (you can check her blog at www.yellowsubmarine.tblog.com where she'll tell you more) was told off yesterday AND today for wearing a different colored shoes. She's been wearing the same shoes since sem 3, yet no one makes a noise about it, especially those in the administration. I don't know why this teacher, suddenly appearing out of nowhere, starts commenting about her shoes.
  3. There's rumors that water is running low and people are already collecting water in their pails. I'm so not ready for another water problem. An important exam's coming up and we have to deal with this real-life crisis. Oh boy...
  4. Maths is getting tougher. Now we're studying Complex Numbers and it definitely lives up to its name of being complex.
  5. I missed my dogs and puppies back home. I missed cuddling January and having her gnawed my arms. I missed the puppies tiny tongues licking my legs and sniffing me. I missed Blackie for being the mother of all my dogs.
  6. I had a meeting last night concerning my batch's farewell dinner and I'm glad my part is already confirmed, so my friends and I just need to prepare the stuff by 17 April.
  7. I missed playing computer games with my brother, just feel like shooting some monsters right now and saving innocent victims. I find that playing video games trained my eyes to be sharp and to stay calm and focused even when the monsters jump from behind you.

What is going to happen today? Hmm...

  1. Maths at 12.40pm. I hope she won't drag it till lunch. But then again, I'm not that hungry.
  2. There's afternoon class - literature. Don't know what are we going to do. My teacher doesn't seem to prepare for class. More like babysitting us than teaching us. She's been giving us study questions and asked to discuss them in a group. I don't know whether we still have time for this, I would rather she teaches us how to tackle EXAM questions, so that we're well prepared, just like sociology.
  3. Feel like going out this evening but I'm trying to save some money. Plus, we just went out last Monday.
  4. Going to watch a movie tonight.
  5. My friend's dad will be here tomorrow. She's excited but nervous at the same time. Nervous cos our Maths teacher might complain her to her dad. =)

My Inner Child

03.09.06 (4:45 pm)   [edit]
Your Inner Child Is Sad

You're a very sensitive soul.
You haven't grown that thick skin that most adults have.
Easily hurt, you tend to retreat to your comfort zone.
You don't let many people in - unless you've trusted them for a long time.

My friend's inner child is happy which definitely fits her, while my other friend's inner child is angry, and yeah, she does look like the kind who says: "Don't mess with me" written all over her face. But my inner child is sad, yeah guys, do I look so sad?

My Temperament

03.08.06 (8:23 pm)   [edit]
You Have a Melancholic Temperament

Introspective and reflective, you think about everything and anything.
You are a soft-hearted daydreamer. You long for your ideal life.
You love silence and solitude. Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you.

Given enough time alone, it's easy for you to find inner peace.
You tend to be spiritual, having found your own meaning of life.
Wise and patient, you can help people through difficult times.

At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you.
You are reserved and withdrawn. This makes it hard to connect to others.
You tend to over think small things, making decisions difficult.
Sometimes it scares me how my personality can be predicted and this is just one of it. Freaky but true.

Before my break

03.08.06 (6:27 pm)   [edit]

Just sent some e-cards to my friends. Whew! It's getting easier and easier to pick out a card for your friends in any sort of occasions. For free again!

Just now I had my Maths quiz. I forgot some of the formulas, so didn't answer all.

By the way, I'm going back home tomorrow. I'm very excited! I get to see my dogs and puppies and of course my family. I just hope that it is not hazy (cos it's hazy here) or hot (cos it's hot in my friend's hometown - about 40 degrees Celcius!) and the Cosackie won't affect me that much.

Hmm...what else...oh yea, going to do presentation for Lit later.

Last night, I watched "The Hunted" and I think it's a splendid movie. I get to apply all the technical things I learned in Lit to analyse the movie. But, I think because the movie is so predictable, it sort of spoil the suspense. So in the end, it's just lukewarm.

I wonder what I'm going to do during the holidays. Next break would be in 2 months time, in May. The holiday is too short, but I guess it's ok since I'll appreciate it more and intend to use my holiday to the fullest. Already started packing. I'm going to bring back my huge pillow. Teachers are going to give assignments for the break. *sigh* As usual...

My class is going to organize a Mentor-mentee cum Farewell Dinner at a nearby hotel and it's going to be held in May, right before my break and my exams. Haven't really thought of an outfit, but I guess I'll do with the one I wear at my cousin's wedding and maybe add some red to it, cos it's sooo white. Planning to do my hair at a saloon. Money, money, money...

My friend

03.01.06 (6:35 pm)   [edit]

8 days to go....Laughing

Water is back! Oh the glorious water...now we don't have to shower in a public toilet or maybe at the hotel (not the hotel room, but the changing room near the swimming pool). I really hope that the water will last till I leave this place for good. Without water, I can't drink lots of water, otherwise I want to pee, same goes for eating. As far as possible, avoid pooing and peeing. I still can brush my teeth and wash my face but no matter how many times I wash my face, I still feel icky. And I have a huge pimple right on my forehead and it hurts so bad...Cry

Just had my Maths class and tomorrow no Maths. I don't hate Maths, in fact I love Maths, it's one of my favorite subjects. But the teacher who teaches Maths makes me dread Maths so much. If only she doesn't 'bully' us to do her work in such a nick of time... Sometimes it makes me feel so stupid when I can't do her work.

It was windy last night, kind of scary actually. It's still windy this morning. I don't know whether it's going to rain or not. Well, hope it does. My favorite weather is rain because it often reflects how I feel inside. Sometimes when I feel like crying, but I couldn't (don't know why, but maybe because I'm just not good at expressing myself), then the rain would help me weep. 'Rain' does not always have to be a melancholic weather. You can play with in the rain too. Some people even shower in the rain, I've tried it when I went back to my grandparents' village because that's the only time you can strip naked. Who else is going to peep at you while you're bathing in the rain? Tongue out Plus, we need to refill the drums with fresh rainwater anyway. Hehehe.

My friend's going to be 20 next Monday. I'm not going to state what are we going to do for her here, otherwise she'll read my blog. But she promises us to burp 20 times at the struck of midnight, to mark her entry into the twenties. Hahahaha. She's a burping machine you know. She can burp really LOUD. Yeah, sometimes I do get gross out, but it's funny. There's this one time, she burped and yawned at the same time. Man, how could she do that? And another time, when she was trying to say something, instead she burped, which was hilarious cos even she herself didn't know that a burp's coming. The interesting thing about her, is that whenever we talked bad about something, she always wrapped it up with a burp, it's like a curse word, more like to emphasise the point we just made. There's this one time also, when she burped there's this awful smell emitted from her mouth, and my other friend immediately said: "Eww, smells like rubbish!" Well, I don't know cos I don't breathe when I eat, it's more like a habit, don't bother asking. But I don't choke when I eat, so don't worry. Anyways, she stopped burping, well, not exactly 'stop' but more like 'suppressed'. Pity her lar in the end, we just ask her to burp out loud. Oh yeah, even her suppressed burp is deep, it's...how should I say it...yep, it's like the sound of the bomb that dropped in Hiroshima. Well, you gotta hear it to know it! *sigh* I always miss the burp cos it always has the ability to break the silence during mealtimes or make the meals more interesting with the food sucks so bad. Well, that's her, MY BUDDY I present to you. It's usually this small, small things, no matter how weird it is that attracts you to a person.

P/S: Forgive me if the person whom I talked about reads this post. I don't mean  to embarrass you. The point I'm trying to reach across is that : I LOVE you no matter who you are!
